Zygmunt Godzina was born in Zawady, Poland on June 2, 1939, and passed away in Spring, Texas on August 3, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Katarzyna "Maria" Godzina, and his parents, Stanislaw and Stephania Godzina.

Zygmunt is survived by his son, Bruce Godzina; his daughter and son-in-law, Xu and Michael Simon; and grandsons, Joshua Simon and Zach Simon.

His mother took advantage of post-war immigration policies to move to New York State in 1945. Zygmunt finished school and worked as a mechanical engineer and a tool designer.   He met the love of his life, Maria, in 1969, and they married in 1970. Together, they enjoyed over 50 years of matrimony and lived in Norway and Scotland, in addition to several US states. Zygmunt and Maria returned to Texas, where they raised 2 children in the 1980's and 1990's, for retirement in 2019.  Zygmunt lost his wife in 2023 and enjoyed both community and independence at Paradis Springs since then.  He loved performance vehicles and comedic entertainment, and had a great appreciation for anything that was well engineered.

A committal service for Zygmunt will be held at 3 pm on Saturday, August 9, 2025 in Klein Memorial Park, 9714 FM 2920, Tomball, TX 77375.
