Woodrow Waylon Sheffield, 76, of Montgomery, died at 5:31 am, Wednesday, January 4,
2017. He was born January 10, 1940, in Corsicana, TX to Woodrow and Mary Lois
Sheffield. He married his high school sweetheart, Sandra Kreinhop, on December 16,
1961.
Waylon is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Sheffield; daughter, Kim
Wunderlich and her husband August; daughter, Audra Rhodes and her husband Kevin; and
son, Waylon "Bud" Sheffield and his wife, Ryane. Also surviving are his
grandchildren, Ryan Wunderlich, Tara Wunderlich, Collin Rhodes, Travis Rhodes,
Savannah Sheffield, and Wyatt Sheffield. He is also survived by his half-brother, L.
K. Sherrill, his wife Billye, and their children and granddaughters.
Waylon was a true outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, and being in nature. He
was raised in the Houston area and graduated from Jeff Davis High School in 1958. In
1959, he enlisted in the U. S. Air Force and served for six years. Waylon and Sandra
raised their children in Spring, TX, and retired in Montgomery, TX. He made a career
manufacturing cable for the oil industry. He was very proud of his 6 grandchildren
who could do no wrong in his eyes.
Friends are welcome to visit with the family from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday, January 7, at Klein
Funeral Home, 14711 FM 1488, Magnolia, TX 77354. Pastor David Bailes of Living Savior Lutheran Church will
officiate a private graveside service for the immediate family at a later date.

Juvenile Dermatomyositis is an autoimmune disease of the muscles, skin, and blood
vessels. Waylon's granddaughter, Savannah, is battling this disease.
