Wilma Ann McWhorter, 81, of Magnolia, passed away September 18, 2018.  She was born April 1, 1937, in Madisonville, TN to the l ate Theodore Roosevelt Moore and Grace R. Moore.

Wilma retired from the Harris County Auditor's Office on January 16th, 1997 after proudly completing 16 years of service. She did payroll for the Sheriff's Department.

She was fortunate enough to attend more than 15 cruises, including to the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, the Bahamas, the Caribbean, and various other Mexican Islands.

She loved to bowl, especially with her closest friends. She was beaming with joy and always had a smile on her face when she was accompanied by her sister, Mildred, and her dear friend, Ann Valmain. They would travel all over to go to bowling tournaments, oh the stories they told!

Wilma hung up her bowling shoes and traded them in for dancing shoes. Her heart was always left on the dance floor, that was her true love. Ballroom and Country Western styles were her favorite types of dancing. She adored the song "Houston" and found a way with the music that was   indescribable.

Patsy Cline was her most beloved artist.

She truly loved her entire family, especially her grandkids and great grandson. They were blessings to her and she considered them her   babies.

No one was a stranger to Wilma. She was always cracking jokes and had a charming wit to her personality. She was the warmest, most generous, loving, caring, kind-hearted, and strongest person you could ever meet. She was a hero to many.

Wilma sadly seemed to obtain illness after illness, but always managed to overcome them. She battled a long and difficult fight with lung cancer after being diagnosed in mid-June. Her spirits were always high and she never lost hope. She couldn't fight any longer, so the good Lord took her home.

Although the disease took her away from Earth, it never took the smile off of her face.

She is survived by her son, Meldon Collins, Jr.; daughters, Iloe King and husband Glenn, and Chere Wedgeworth, grandchildren, Melissa Collins, Riley Wedgeworth, and Rachel Wedgeworth; great-grandchild, Ryan Hanson, II; and brother T.R. Moore, Jr. and wife Mary.

Including her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie W. "Mac: McWhorter; sisters, Mildred Blair, Maefel Deiterich and Yvonne Isbill; and son-in-law, Riley Wedgeworth.

The Family will be meeting at Magnolia First Baptist Church following the service for refreshments and fellowship.
