Willie Mae Kenney passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 88. Born in Okeene, Oklahoma in 1936, she lived a life full of love, creativity, faith, and kindness.

She married the love of her life, Donald Emmett Kenney, and together they raised five children, building a family grounded in warmth and care. Willie began her career as a registered nurse but chose to leave that path to devote herself fully to raising her family. In the years that followed, she became a renowned artist and teacher, known for her beautiful work and the countless students she mentored over the years.

A devoted Christian, Willie's faith was the foundation of her life. She grew up in the church, and her love for God guided everything she did. She shared her faith openly with her family, neighbors, and friends, always offering words of encouragement, prayer, and spiritual strength. Her walk with Christ was evident in her kindness, her service to others, and the love she gave so freely.

In addition to her faith and artistic talent, Willie had a spirited love for sports. She especially enjoyed playing tennis and staying active. Her enthusiasm, both on and off the court, was matched only by her radiant smile and the joy she brought to those around her.

Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Emmett Kenney; her parents, William and Myra Link; and her sisters, LaVita Parks and Margaret Ruth.

She is lovingly remembered by her sister Mary Hurley and brother-in-law Pat Hurley; her children: Donnie and Liz Kenney, Sherry and Marc Ashley, Debbie and Chris Coleman, Brenda and Milton Mays, and Stephen and Melissa Kenney. She also leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy and pride into her life.

Willie Mae Kenney was a beautiful soul whose presence made the world a gentler, more colorful place. Her legacy lives on in the love she shared, the care she gave, the art she created, the faith she lived by, and the family she cherished.

A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home Chapel, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Klein, TX 77379.
