William Charles Weaver Jr., beloved father, grandfather, brother, retired Houston Police Sergeant, and dedicated servant to his community, passed away on May 19, 2026, at the age of 74, surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on October 11, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana, to William Charles Weaver Sr. and Frances Sykes Weaver.

William proudly served his country in the United States Coast Guard from 1970 to 1974 before beginning a lifelong career in law enforcement. He began his career with the New Orleans Police Department on May 25, 1975, serving as a police officer and investigator.

On January 7, 1977, William joined the Houston Police Department as part of Academy Class #77. During his 20-year career with HPD, he served in numerous assignments, including the Traffic and Accident Division, Jail Division, Crime Analysis Division, South Central Division, Forensic Services Command, West Side Division, and Emergency Communications Division. He later served in leadership roles as a police sergeant, operations supervisor for emergency communications, and director of operations for the Computer-Aided Dispatch Task Force. Sergeant Weaver honorably retired from the Houston Police Department on October 4, 1997.

In 1986, William founded W. Weaver Associates, continuing his work as a public safety consultant and certified trainer. Throughout his career, he worked with organizations including the Texas Medical Center, Continental Airlines, McMillan Architects, and LC III Contractors. He was also a certified commercial crime prevention specialist, educator, and mentor. William Charles Weaver Jr. was recognized by Marquis Who's Who as a noteworthy public safety consultant for his contributions and leadership within the field.

William was a graduate of the Texas Management Institute at Sam Houston State University and remained actively involved in numerous professional organizations, including the Associated Public-Safety Communications Officers, the Association of Texas Law Enforcement Educators, the Texas Crime Prevention Association, and the Gulf Coast Crime Prevention Association.

William was formerly married to Elizabeth Bonds on March 25, 1989, and together they shared many years and memories.

Above all, William was a devoted family man who deeply cherished his children, grandchildren, and loved ones. He is survived by his children, Danielle Marie Weaver and William Daniel Weaver, and is now reunited in heaven with his oldest daughter, Adina Lynn Walker.

He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Miranda Allman, Harrison Walker, Anderson Walker, and William Charles Weaver III; his sister, Malinda Jennings; his brother, Michael Charles Weaver Sr.; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

To his family, William was the definition of a man — strong, dependable, hardworking, and deeply loving. He found joy in the simple moments of life: barbecuing for family and friends, relaxing in his recliner while watching movies, football, and his favorite television shows, reading, and cheering on his grandchildren from the sidelines at their games and activities. He especially enjoyed crime and investigative series like Criminal Minds, Bones and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune. Above all, some of his greatest happiness came from simply being surrounded by the people he loved most.

William's legacy of service, leadership, and love for his family will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.
