William Thomas Peterson, Jr.

William Thomas Peterson, Jr. of Houston, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 12, 2023. Born on March 6, 1934, in Houston, he was the embodiment of dedication, service, and compassion throughout his remarkable life.
A proud graduate of St. Thomas High School in Houston and the University of Houston, William, known affectionately as "Tom," embarked on a distinguished journey of service to his country and a successful career. His commitment to the nation led him to serve in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, where he made significant contributions during his assignment at the Pentagon.
Tom's professional trajectory continued after his military service, marked by executive roles at prestigious firms such as IBM, Accor, and various other companies. His leadership and vision left an indelible mark on the business world.
Upon retirement, Tom's heart remained devoted to giving back. He generously volunteered his time and expertise at his church and numerous business organizations. His passion for guiding and mentoring young minds in their careers touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an enduring legacy of inspiration.
In 1960, Tom married the love of his life, Marjorie Carolyn (Lenart) Peterson, and shared a beautiful journey until her passing in 2005. In 2010, he found love again and married Sally Hawes Peterson, creating a loving home in Cypress, Texas, where they cherished each other's company.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sally Peterson, and his cherished sons Bill Peterson and Brad Peterson, along with their devoted daughters-in-law Greta Peterson and Terese Walton. His grandchildren, Elizabeth (and Jeff) Clodfelter, Willbo (and Kelly) Peterson, Evan Peterson, Willman Peterson, and Maddy Peterson, were the pride and joy of his later years.
A service celebrating Tom's life will be held at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church, 11507 Huffmeister Rd., Houston, at 11:00 am on Monday, December 18, 2023. In honor of his memory, the family requests that any donations be directed to Christ the Redeemer Church (11507 Huffmeister Road, Houston, Texas 77065) in lieu of flowers.
Tom Peterson's life was a testament to integrity, selflessness, and unwavering dedication to family, country, and community. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered for his kindness, wisdom, and enduring legacy of service.
Tom ended his second book, "Stop Me If You've Heard This", with words he would like to share with all of his loved ones: "I'll see you on the other side."
