On Saturday, February 19, 2022, Sgt. William Michael "Mike" Thomas, loving husband and father passed away at age 61. Mike was born on November 25, 1960 in Petersburg, Virginia to Henry and Billie Sellers Thomas. He graduated from Klein High School in 1978 before becoming a deputy for Harris County Sheriff Department in 1985. Mike had a passion for dog training and was a founding member of the K-9 Unit. He served for 37 years ending his career as the sergeant of the Mobile Odor Detection K-9 Unit.
Mike was preceded in death by his mother, Billie and his father, Henry. He is survived by his wife Tami, his four children, Megan and husband Dominic, Carrie and husband Thomas, Austen and wife Yari, Noah and fiancé Kamryn. Brothers Dan, Doug, David, Jeff, James, sister Lisa, and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Second Baptist Cypress Campus at 11 o'clock. In Lieu of flowers donations may be sent to K-9's4cops in his honor.
