William Allan Schwegmann, better known as Bill, was born on June 12, 1949 in Weimar, Texas and peacefully went to his heavenly home on October 16, 2023.  He lived all of his adult life in Houston with his loving family – wife, Kathy and son, Allan.  He will be missed dearly.

Bill loved learning and earned three degrees as well a CPA license. He had a Bachelor of Arts in English and History, a Bachelor of Accountancy, and a Master of Business Administration. He retired as the Chief Financial Officer of an engineering firm.

Bill used his expertise with numbers in various capacities to help others. He served as treasurer for the Inquirers' Sunday School class and for the Ravensway Board of Directors for twenty-five years. For over twenty years Bill worked closely with Volunteers in Tax Assistance (VITA) a non-profit organization that assists our neighbors in lower socio-economic areas in Houston every tax season. He loved and respected working with and for these residents.  In turn, they loved him as well, and they looked forward to seeing him each year.

While Bill earned degrees, recognitions, and awards over the years, his greatest title and achievement was that of becoming a loving dedicated father to Allan.  One of Bill's favorite shirts was a jersey with the number 79 (Allan's birth year) and the name DAD across the back.  Bill was a part of every aspect and activity in which Allan was involved.  He coached soccer and baseball, volunteered on his swim team, served as both Cub Scout Den Leader and Assistant Cub Master of Pack 1537, taught Sunday school, was a sixth grade MYF leader, and served as a counselor on numerous youth mission trips.  His lasting legacy for Allan was his faith in Jesus Christ and accepting everyone as a child of God. Bill not only encouraged Allan's love for learning and reading, but also gave him a life-long appreciation for the arts and music.  Some of their favorite times were visiting art galleries as well as live music performances ranging from classical to rock.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Ruth Schwegmann and his brother Fred Schwegmann. He is survived by his wife of 51 years and his son, Allan as well as many cousins and numerous friends that he has touched over the years.

A celebration of Bill's life will be held on Wednesday, October 25 at 10:00 AM at Cypress Methodist Church (13403 Cypress North Houston, Cypress, TX 77429.)
