Obituary

William Evans Phillips passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on November 28, 2022. He is survived by his two children, Julie Stevens and Brian Phillips, as well as his son in law, Greg Stevens, and daughter-in-law, Ale Phillips, and three grandchildren, Katherine, Logan, and Ben.

William was born on May 25, 1944, in Pascagoula, MS, and was raised by his parents, Jack and Josephine Phillips. After high school he attended Mississippi State University where he received his Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1962. He then moved to Louisiana where he met and married Sherril in 1968. His career then took them to Houston, TX, where he received his MBA from the University of Houston in 1973. William then went on to work for large engineering firms such as Foster Wheeler and Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR.)

He was an inventor and received three patents for various industrial designs for petro chemical manufacturing industrial processes. In 1985 his job brought him to England where he took his family to live in a small quant village for a year. During that time the family went on many adventures traveling all over Europe. England was his favorite country outside the US. William had a love for fast sports cars, enjoyed keeping up with his Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Dallas Cowboys, reading and watching movies.

He will be deeply missed. We will carry his infinite love and wisdom with us always.
