WILLIAM CLARENCE KRUMEL

Born September 3, 1934, at home in Englewood, Nebraska, passed away August 10, 2024, in Houston, Texas (89). Preceded in death were his parents Clarence J Krumel and Ruth Elva Peterson, sister Donna Mae Greene, and brother Michael James.

Bill is survived by his wife Nancy and four children: Doug Krumel (Donna), Debbie Haley (Tom), Linda Krumel, Mike Krumel (Erika). Two grandchildren: Thomas Jr (TJ) and Shannon, and four great grandchildren: Victoria, Haley, Michael, and Audrey.

Bill graduated from Fremont High in 1952 and attended Wayne State College. Bill was a proud Eagle Scout. Other proud accomplishments include a hole in one at Inwood Country Club and was board member and past president of EHC.

Owning a motorcycle when he met Nancy, he would soon sell his bike to buy Nancy a diamond ring. They married June 4, 1955, recently celebrating 69 years.

Starting as a route salesman with Omar Bakery (Omaha NE) led to a long career in the food industry. Bill joined Stoops and Wilson Brokerage, later buying the firm. He sold the business to join Chinet Corp and moved to Chicago IL. In 1971 Bill joined Booth Fisheries making his final move to Houston Tx. Boots, rodeos and BBQ was his new home.

As the ultimate Nebraska Cornhusker fan, Bill was featured as "Fan of the week" on Lincoln NE local news while renting an apt. in NE to attend Cornhusker games both home and away. Bill purchased a 1929 Model A from the original owner and fully restored the car with all its original parts, proudly giving rides and participating in 4th of July parades.

As a great cook, Bill mastered brisket. Cooking for tailgate parties, EHC events, and family he loved to entertain. As a member of Lakewood Methodist Church for 25 years, he ushered many Sundays and volunteered for many funeral services. He was president of his Sunday School class for 13 years and brought coffee every Sunday.

Bill and Nancy have traveled extensively. Touring all of Europe, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Morocco, Alaska, Panama Canal, and Hawaii many times.
