William "Bill" Jeffrey, 54, of Spring, Texas, passed away on September 20, 2021, in the line of duty as a Houston Police Officer.
Bill was born on July 1, 1967, to John "Jack" Jeffrey and Patricia Ann Moquin in Montclair, New Jersey. After graduating from Spring High School in 1985, he went on to study criminal justice at Sam Houston University.
After graduation, he served with the United States Navy before joining the Houston Police Department Academy class #140 in 1990. During his tenure with the department, he was assigned to the North Division as a patrol officer. He joined the South Central Division as a patrol officer and served on the tactical unit before devoting more than 10 years to the Major Offenders Warrant Unit with End of Watch on September 20, 2021.
In 2010, he met his wife, Susanne Marie Reaves, while both were working at the Houston Police Department. They were married on Grand Cayman in 2018. Bill is also survived by his beautiful daughter, Lacie Christine Jeffrey, and 2-year-old granddaughter, Laney Grace Kaiser. He cherished his time with Susanne, Lacie and Laney.
In his younger years, Bill spent much of his time away from work with Lacie showing longhorns and working around her grandparents' ranch. One of Bill's passions was sports, playing both baseball and football throughout his youth including high school and college. Bill loved his time playing for the Houston Gunners football team with his fellow HPD Officers. It was not uncommon to see him on any of the football or baseball fields around town cheering on his friends and family. When he wasn't on the sidelines, he spent his time hunting, fishing, boating and hanging out with friends. He loved to travel and never missed a trip to Newfound Lake, Keuka Lake, or California to make memories with his family. He was always up for an adventure. Bill would always say he didn't want to be the center of attention but was always a "social butterfly" and life of the party.
Bill was predeceased by his parents John "Jack" Jeffrey and Patricia Ann Moquin, sister Lisa Guentert and infant brother, Jay Jeffrey. He is survived by his loving wife Susanne Jeffrey, beautiful daughter Lacie Jeffrey (Sheri Skarpa, Lacie's mother), adorable granddaughter Laney Kaiser, stepmothers Shirley Jeffrey and Elsa Tower. Bill also left behind his sisters Lynn Jeffrey, Kathy Sharman (husband Scott) and Melissa "Missy" Jeffrey. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews Daniel Guentert (wife Aimee, children Audrey and Gatlin), Shanna Wimberly (husband Jason) Paul Sharman and Sarah Sharman. The loss will be felt throughout the Jeffrey family leaving behind aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved like siblings. The void will be felt by his team, colleagues and longtime friends. Bill was bigger than life. He was loved by all and will be missed by many.
