On Resurrection Sunday morning, April 4, 2021, our merciful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, called home his faithful servant, William "Scott" Japczynski 59, of The Woodlands, Texas. Scott was surrounded by his loving family at Memorial Hermann Hospital in The Woodlands.

Scott is survived by Sheryl, his cherished wife of 41 years. He was the proud father of four surviving children Tom (Kim), Jamie, Chris (Ashley), and Beth (Troy) Parish all of whom live in the vicinity.  In addition, Scott treasured his four grandsons, Elijah, Noah, Ezekiel, and Jesse Parish. Scott is also survived by his mother, Susan Japczynski, a sister, Jennifer Japczynski Cottle (Brian), and two brothers Barry and Stephen Japczynski (Joanna) and sister-in-law Donna Bischoff. Scott was preceded in death by his father, Donald, and a brother, Joseph Japczynski.

Scott was born on August 11, 1961 to Donald and Susan (Shipley) Japczynski in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was raised in Steubenville, Ohio where he attended Catholic Central High School. Scott met his wife, Sheryl, in January 1979, and they married shortly thereafter on November 30, 1979.

In 1981, Scott enlisted in the Air Force. While enlisted, he attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and the University of New Mexico. Scott attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.  He was stationed at Holloman Air Force Base in Alamogordo, New Mexico for four years and subsequently at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver, Colorado for four years.  During his service, Scott earned the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with one Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster, the Air Force Training Ribbon, and the Air Force Longevity Service Award Ribbon.

Scott's greatest strength in life was his determination. It was through his strong work ethic and drive that he achieved the position of Executive Vice President of Bruker Optics and most recently Vice President of Technology for Black Forest Ventures.

As important as his career was to him, his first and forever passion was his faith and his family. Scott enjoyed traveling with his wife and children. An avid fly fisherman, many of Scott's travels were focused on favorable fishing sites. He also enjoyed riding his Harley while exploring the Hill Country.

Scott was an active member of St. Anthony Padua Catholic Church. A true disciple of Jesus Christ, he brought many others closer in their faith through living and demonstrating his own faith.

Scott Japczynski will be forever missed by family, friends, and colleagues.

A visitation will be held at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church on April 16, 2021 beginning at 10:30 a.m. Immediately following the visitation, a funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. There will be a private family ceremony for the Rite of Committal following the mass.
