William Andrew (Drew) Houston passed away early Saturday morning, December 17, 2022. Drew is survived by his wife Linda Houston, his daughter Kimberly Dru Houston Thompson and Peter Thompson, his son Christopher Andrew Houston and wife Sheryl Houston, 5 grandchildren, Jessica Thompson Higdon, Jaclynn Ruth Thompson, Eric Houston, Amy Houston, and Lauren Houston. His brother Jeffrey Houston, his sisters Brenda Jones, Louise Griffin, Charlene Cabaniss and Dharlene Wilson. His family was his heart!

Born in Alabama on March 17, 1947. Drew graduated from Tuscaloosa High School in 1964 and married his high school sweetheart, Linda Little in September of 1967. They were partners in life for more than 50 years. He went on to join the Army that same year.

He was very proud of his military service and being part of one of the most elite groups as an Army Ranger.  He served his country for 2 years; his first year he was stationed in Korea and the second year he served in the United States. Becoming a Ranger requires completing one of the toughest military training schools in the world. Ranger candidates train to exhaustion, pushing the limits of their minds and bodies. He was very proud to be part of this group!

Drew moved his family to Houston in 1969 and went on to graduate from the University of Houston Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance in 1982. He had a successful career as a stockbroker and financial planner until he retired in 2009. But more important than his career was always his family and his friends. He was his happiest when he was surrounded by his loved ones.

Drew was loved by all who knew him and he made many friends throughout his lifetime. He will be missed by his family and the many friends who had the honor of knowing him.
