William Franklin Hamilton (09-17-1945 Chester, PA) aka Marcus Hooker, SASS #29384, passed away at home in Houston, Texas, January 10, 2018, after a courageous fight against aggressive colon cancer. We thank our skilled team of surgeons at Houston Methodist Willowbrook. Bill spent his working career in the oil, gas and chemical industry. He graduated 1963 Chichester Jr/Sr High School, Boothwyn, PA; attended West Chester State University, West Chester, PA; graduated University of Houston Downtown 2002 and walked Minute Maid Park. Bill moved his family to Houston in 1984 to escape the cold climate and live the cowboy life, and never looked back.

He leaves behind his loving wife and high school sweetheart of 57+ years Ethel Marie (Field) Hamilton, daughters, Cynthia Lynn Hamilton, Austin, TX and Stephanie Marie (Hamilton) McCreery, Houston, TX. His favorite grandson, Jamin Mathew (TTU) and wife Morgan (Cook) Peterson, Rowlett, TX; two very special granddaughters Amber Nicole McCreery (WTAMU) and Heather Marie McCreery (TSU), and favorite ex-son-in-law Cecil and wife Michelle (Black) McCreery, Missouri City, TX. Three brothers: Joseph Merrell Hamilton and wife Carolyn, Venice, FL; Artimus Chester Hamilton and wife Frances (Lozak), Chadds Ford, PA; Michael Leonard Hamilton and wife Patricia (Happy), Boothwyn, PA. He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph Merrell (Sr) and wife Mary Louise (Jenkins) Hamilton, Linwood, PA; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He also leaves behind his extended family: Walter James and wife Christine Elaine (Field) Zinszer, Linwood, PA and Margaret (Pryor) Field, Townsend, DE, along with many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his in-laws Chester Wesley (Sr) and wife Ethel May (Tinney) Field, Boothwyn, PA and brother-in-law Chester Wesley Field Jr, Jim Thorpe, PA.

Bill was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Phoenixville, PA, 1982-2018. He loved reading, history, camping, hunting, boating, and especially cowboy shooting, as well as being with his family. Alias Marcus Hooker, Adventurer, was taken from his home town in PA.
