The only way I can do this is, is as if we are talking,
though I can't imagine a one way conversation with you, not even now.
I always loved talking with you
And you sure loved talking, and laughing, and baseball, and geography, history, culture, and reading
and learning new things ...
And you sure loved my aunt Rina so much
And you loved our family
, a
nd there sure are lot of us...
And we are loud
, and
we came often, and even unannounced
A
nd
often we
crowded
your ho
use
And f
illed it with chaos, laughter and love
And through it all,
you always opened up your
home and
heart
to us,
saying "allan" and smiling
,
as we arrived
Such
beautiful f
riendships
developed
in our family
that by
choice, and with love,
became yours
too
.
But listening,
Really listening, is one of your greatest gifts
and joys
Your eyes full of wonder, your smile so warm
You'd give your undivided attention-
eager to understand, always
with
sensitivity and
kindness,
your passion
infinite and genuine
.
You gave so much of your self when we'd talk,
that conversations with you
some how
came to life
What gifts you had and shared, lucky us
.
Deitzie,
Y
ou were such a great listener
surely, you can hear me even now, you must!
So I can tell you how much we miss you, how much I miss you already,
So I can tell you how wonderful you are, how much we all love you
How important you are to me, to every one in our family
I don't think I told you that, certainly not enough
I don't think I thanked you enough
Or told you how much I love you, and how grateful I am for
the many years
we had.
Dietzie,
This conversation isn't over yet, for me, it never will be
,
I just can't
seem to
hang up
I hope to find more solace in knowing that your body and soul can rest
now,
but
I'll always
miss you and w
ish
that we could
still
talk
.
With love,
