William Robert Adair Sr. Passed away peacefully on Saturday October 13 surrounded by his loving family. Bob succumbed to Alzheimer's disease which he had bravely fought for over 12 years.
Bob was born in Baltimore, Maryland on September 3, 1940. He attended Poly School where he excelled in academics and athletics. He then attended the University of Baltimore where he majored in accounting while playing varsity lacrosse. After graduation in 1964, Bob joined what is now known as Exxon where he worked from 1965 until his retirement in 1995. After retirement he worked for Corporate Staffing for a few years.
Bob was a member of the Louetta Road MUD Water Board from 1983 until 2013 and was proud of his service to the community in which he lived. He was also elected to various board and executive positions for the Terra Nova Community Association.
On September 17, 1971 Bob married Barbara Plemmons Adair with whom he had 2 children, Heather Blankenship married to Michael, and Kevin Adair married to Rosie, who both live in the Houston area. With his first wife, Carole Schagrin, Bob also had 2 children, William Robert Adair Jr married to Mary Beth, and Robin Adair Harvey married to E. Thomas Harvey Ill, all of whom reside in Delaware.
Additionally, Bob is survived by his sister Jane Schwemlein and his 5 grandchildren of whom he was immensely proud.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday October 17 from 6pm to 8pm at the Klein Funeral Home, Champions.
Funeral service will be held Thursday morning at 11 am at the same location. Interment will follow immediately at Klein Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Alzheimer's Association, or to Care Partners at 701 North Post Oak Road, Suite 330, Houston, Texas 77024.
