September 24, 1939 - January 17, 2017
Wilburn Monroe "Buck" Clayton, Jr. went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at home surrounded by his family after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Houston, Texas to Wilburn and Mary Frances on September 24, 1939. After graduating from Reagan High School in Houston, Texas, Class of 1957, he went on to graduate from the University of Houston with a degree in Marketing/Transportation. After 40 plus years of service with the Southern Pacific/Union Pacific Railroads, he retired to his beautiful yellow victorian home he built in RoseWood Hill with his bride of 52 years, Cathie. He was kind, smart, funny, never met a stranger, would give you the shirt off his back, always had a joke to tell and loved old classic cars. Most of all he loved his wife and family immensely and showed us everyday he was in this world. We will miss him so much but rejoice knowing he is finally free from pain and in the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Cathie Elizabeth (Buchanan) Clayton, daughter Jennifer Harmeier, son-in-law Frank Harmeier, granddaughters, Cassidy and Carleigh, grandsons, Cody and Casey Harmeier all of Tomball; daughter, Jolie Weidemann, son-in law Randy Weidemann, grandsons, Dane and Cade Weidemann of Brenham; Sister, Carol Trevino of Hempstead and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his honor at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas.
"My chains are gone I've been set free My God, my Savior has ransomed me and like a flood his mercy rains unending love Amazing Grace"
