Wendell Charles Sonnier

Wendell Charles Sonnier, 69, passed away on June 27, 2024. Wendell was born on
January 9, 1955, in New Iberia, Louisiana, to Earl Charles Sonnier and June Theresa
Sonnier.

He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Sonnier. Wendell is survived by his wife,
Cherry Sonnier; his son, Kyle Sonnier; his mother, June Sonnier; and his brothers, Seth
Sonnier and wife Suzy, and Karl Sonnier and wife Ellen.

Wendell was a hardworking and steadfast individual who dedicated over 40 years to the
oil and gas industry in Houston, Texas. He eventually retired as a General Manager for
A.C.S., a subsidiary of National Oilwell Varco, a career that took him across the
globe—from the Middle East to Europe—and back home to the United States.

An avid duck hunter and conservationist, Wendell cherished the outdoors. He could
often be found tending to his garden, hunting around Lake Somerville, or woodworking
in his workshop. He loved spending time with his family, sharing stories of his
adventures and experiences from his extensive career and life. Wendell was deeply
loved by his family and friends, who will be forever changed by his presence and legacy.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
