Wendell Tennyson Hill, Jr. passed away on June 3, 2018 at his home in Spring, TX. He was born on April 14, 1946 in Dallas, TX to Wendell Tennyson Hill, Sr. and Leta Massey Hill. He is the husband of Cindy Wells Hill.  They shared 50 years of marriage together.

Wendell grew up in Dallas and attended Hillcrest High School through his junior year and graduated from John Muir High School in Pasadena, CA in 1964. Wendell served 4 years in the Air Force after voluntarily enlisting.  He later went back to college and graduated from University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelors of Business Administration.  He worked for several years in the Oil and Gas industry and then later started his own consulting business, W T Hill Enterprises, where he worked until his retirement in 2015.

Wendell was most known for his infectious laugh and big smile. He loved good food and grilling. He also loved his Houston Astros and attended their Spring Training with Cindy for many years, as well as rooting for the University of Houston Cougars!  He loved his family, friends, and neighbors and would always be the first to offer help or run errands for anyone.  He rocked babies in the nursery at church for years and when he finally became a Grandpa, he could not have been prouder.  He was always happy to be at any of his grandsons' sporting events, cheering the loudest! They adored their Poppie!

Wendell is survived by his wife Cindy of Spring, Tx; his son Chris (wife Kellianne) of Houston, TX; his daughter Lisa Hill Wittliff (husband Matt) of Cypress, TX; his grandchildren Zachary, Mark and Luke Wittliff; his sister Jane McConnell of Dallas, TX; and his sister Mary Smith (husband Drew) of Dripping Springs, TX…and many loving nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Roland Hill.

A memorial service will take place on Saturday, June 9th at 2:00pm at Cypress United Methodist Church (sanctuary), 13403 Cypress N. Houston Rd, Cypress TX 77429.
