Walter James Ware Jr., 73, of Brenham, Texas, passed from this life peacefully on May 18, 2026. He was born on August 8, 1952 to Walter Ware Sr. and Judy Cook in Bryan, Texas.

Walter married Margie Rodgers in 1974, and together they raised three daughters in Cypress, Texas. He made a career as a certified contract welder until his retirement. In 2008, Walter and Margie moved to Brenham to pursue their passion for full-time cattle ranching.

Walter cherished his time with family and friends, enjoying good music and good company. He especially loved two-stepping, playing dominos and games, trips to the casino, and cheering on the Aggies at Kyle Field. He was truly one of a kind — tough as leather, yet with a tender heart for his girls. Walter was the biggest supporter of his children and grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their activities and celebrate their accomplishments.

A hardworking and simple man, Walter never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Walter's legacy will live on through his wife, children, and grandchildren.

Those left to cherish his memories are: Wife of 52 years, Margie Ware. Daughter Angie Arnett and husband T.J., Alisa Ware and partner Mark Herzog. Stacey Thayer and husband Evan. He was Pops to his grandchildren, the "Fab Five"; Garrett and Emma Arnett, Kyleigh Herzog, Annie and James Thayer. He was Bubba to two sisters, Cheryl Morris and Judy Carter and husband Paul; sisters- and brother-in-law Kathleen Duty, and Jimmie and Linda Rodgers, along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by: Mother Judy Cook and husband Cecil. Father Walter "Dub" Ware Sr. and wife Joyce.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice Brazos Valley, Guardian Health Care, and the caregivers who tenderly supported him in his final weeks at home.
