Walter Leo (Jack) Jackson, Jr.
October 13, 1925 - May 18, 2019
After serving in WWll, he was honorably discharged Second Lieutenant from the US Army. Then, Mr. Jackson graduated from the University of North Carolina, a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. He was happily married to Betty Bencini Jackson for 56 years who predeceased him. His children include his predeceased son John Richmond Jackson, daughter Cindy Orr and husband Lawson living in Houston, TX and son, Walter (Jay) Jackson III and Debra living in Wheat Ridge, CO. He was survived by his granddaughter, Hilary Orr Francis, her husband Philip and their three beautiful children, Kerner and twins Lake and Gwynn. He also leaves behind a niece and nephews and cousins.
Jack loved recalling and sharing stories about his many adventures. He lived a very full life which included traveling to many countries and enjoying the experience of the variety of cultures. He also enjoyed the many dogs, cats and horses he and his wife had over the years. In addition, he was an avid hunter and especially enjoyed duck hunting as well as other sporting activities including water skiing, snow skiing, sailing, and horseback riding. Among other services and volunteer work, he was a 32nd Degree Mason.
He left behind wonderful memories which were preserved into nine separate books covering everything from his repertoire of jokes to Labrador retrievers to business. Jack's cheerful, hospitable, gentleman style will be missed by his family and many friends.
