Obituary

My beloved husband, Walter (Grady) Holmes, 87, went to be with Our Dear Lord on Thursday, February 1, 2018. He will be remembered for his selfless acts of kindness and generosity and the joy he brought to those around him with his wit and tenacity. He is loved and will be missed dearly by his wife Gloria Holmes, sister Sophia Ansley, and his two sons Walter Holmes and Randy Holmes.

Survived by:

Wife of 31 years,  Gloria; s ister, Sophia Ansley of Buffalo, Texas; niece, Janet Burns of Galveston, Texas; nephews, Herman Ansley Jr. of Buffalo, Texas, and John Ansley of Palestine, Texas; s on, Walter and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Heather, Stephanie, Natalie, and Jacque; granddaughters, Evelyn and Ashlyn; s o n Randy and wife Gena; and grandchildren, Bradley and Matthew.

Walter was born in Buffalo, Texas ,on December 6, 1930, and after school went into the military. He then quickly got into the automotive world being around cars his entire life. He s pent most of his working career in the body shop field at a few different dealerships in the Houston area, and lastly at Tommy Vaughn Ford as the body shop manager for many years. Then after retiring he couldn't get completely away from the business, so he went to work with his very long-time friend Bernie, at Brezina Claims.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 8, at Klein Funeral Home - Tomball, 1400 W. Main, Tomball, TX 77375. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 9, at Houston National Cemetery, Houston.
