Walter Lavenda Carrico (Walt), 82, passed away Thursday June 16 th 2016 following a hard fought battle with cancer.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Carrico, his daughter Mickey Carrico, daughter Susan Kuntz and husband Gene, and son John Carrico and wife Amanda; grandchildren Scott LeBleu, Nickolas Carrico, Michael Carrico, Cole Carrico, Hassyn Carrico, Chase Carrico, Morgan Carrico, Gene Kuntz II, Mary Margaret Brasher and husband Shaun, great granddaughter Weslie LeBleu and great grandson Liam Brasher; sister Linda Cappel and husband Chip and brother Butch Carrico and wife Janie.
Walt was born in Gary, Texas on July 16, 1933, the son of Robert and Virgie Carrico. After graduating from Gary High School he pursued a career in the oilfield before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. After his service in the army he resumed his career with Phillips Petroleum Company retiring in 1998 as a Drilling Operations Superintendent. He was a faithful member of Magnolia's First Baptist Church.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 20 from 6–8PM at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia. The funeral service is to be held at Klein Funeral Home in Magnolia on Tuesday, June 21 at 10:00AM.
