Wallie, 90, of Tomball Texas, passed from this life on September 5th, 2025. He was born on October First, 1934, In Arnaudville Louisiana to Ovey Ryder and Otta Thibodeaux. Wallie lived a beautiful life alongside his wife Effie and their two sons Edwin Sr. and Wallie Jr.

He was a soldier, a husband, a friend, a father, an uncle, a grandfather and even a great grandfather. His journey began while he served for the US Army in the Korean War. He served his term in the 10th Infantry as a heavy weapons infantryman. Wallie was classed as a specialist E4 sharpshooter rifleman. After a 3-year term, he put his rifles down and his journey with the Army came to an end. He then went home to his wife Effie and soon started a family of two sons. Wallie was always a hardworking man, it was something he truly enjoyed. He enjoyed working so much that he eventually went on with his own carpet business and from there on he gained a long-lived relationship with Grace view Baptist Church. Wallie was a strong-willed man who could recite any verse in the bible to you if asked and loved speaking to others about God. His faith and belief in God were something truly remarkable. He spent a lot of his days laying carpet, watching the fire out back, sleeping in his chair or baking sweet goodies for his Sunday school class. Wallie would give anyone the shirt off his back. There are so many words that could be used to describe him, but you would run out of paper. He was always there for anyone who was in need as his home was always open. After he went through life with his kids, they had kids of their own and Wallie became Poppa to 3 grandchildren and later to multiple great grandchildren. He loved to play train and chicken foot with his close friends at the Elderberries Potlucks just as much as taking the weekly box of donut holes for Sunday mornings at church. Wallie helped whenever he could, wherever he could. He was a Cajun French who could talk so fast you would lose him in the conversation due from his accent. Wallie enjoyed the outdoors and the simple things in life, especially cayenne pepper and Jalapenos. He had many stories he shared with his grandchildren including how he ran away and hitchhiked to Houston with his cousin to start a new life. He spent many mornings drinking his coffee and watching cartoons with Effie and his grandchildren and many holiday weekends making large tubs of his and Effie's church famous fruit cakes for everyone to enjoy. He eventually came down with terminal illness and moved in with his granddaughter where he lived the remainder of his life surrounded by loved ones who cared for him deeply.

Wallie is preceded in death by both his parents and wife, his brother, his foster parents, his two daughters and 3 great grandchildren.
