Vonn Edward Leatherman, age 75, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024. Born on January 20, 1949 to parents John David and Alberta Reynolds Leatherman, Vonn led a life marked by devotion to family, service to his country, and a passion for the outdoors.

Vonn proudly served as a Ranger in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army during the Vietnam War, a chapter of his life that shaped his character and instilled in him a deep respect for service and sacrifice. Vonn retired from Shell Oil before owning and running his own State Inspection business for the last 25 years.

Vonn was a devoted husband, father, and Papaw. He was married for 51 years to Mariana Gerardi Leatherman, with whom he shared a loving life. Vonn enjoyed spending time with family and friends, working on cars, hunting, NASCAR and the Astros. His intellect and one of a kind personality will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Vonn is survived by his wife, Mariana; son, Jess Leatherman of Cleveland,TX; daughter, Sara (Blake) Arnold of Montgomery, TX; granddaughters, Lola, Evie, and Sophie Arnold; sister, Kay Remillard; and brother, John Kevin Leatherman as well as many family members and life long friends. Vonn was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Karl Eric Leatherman, and sister, Debra Sue Garner.

Vonn's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him
