Vol D. West was born in Lincoln, Arkansas on March 17, 1934 and passed away in Schertz, Texas on July 13, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Carol Blake West, son Randal West, parents, John and Gladys West, brothers, John and Jimmy West, sisters, Virginia Ozbun and Trixie Beeks.

Vol is survived by his daughter, Rosmarie Velasquez and husband Baldo; brother Verl West, grandchildren Ashley Duran (Michael), Gayle Turle (Corby), and Daryl Huff (Dawn), five great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren and eight step great-great-grandchildren.

Vol married his high school sweetheart, Carol, on 3 November 1952 in Lincoln, Arkansas. Carol was the love of his life and they were blessed with 65 years of marriage and the raising of their two children.

Vol served 20 years with the US Air Force. The family traveled often during his military service to several stateside assignments and two overseas assignments in France and Italy. After his military career, Vol was employed as a manager in hospital services in Houston, TX for 23 years. After his second retirement, Vol and Carol relocated back to their hometown of Lincoln AR where Vol served on the Chamber of Commerce and Lincoln Planning Commission. Vol served as Kiwanis Club President for Lincoln in 1995. Vol is a 32nd degree Mason, perpetual member of Lincoln Lodge #615. Another one of Vol's proudest achievements was becoming the Mayor of Lincoln from 1999-2002. He felt strongly about giving back to the community of the town where he was born and raised. Both Vol and Carol enjoyed delivering meals for the Lincoln Senior Center for eight years and both were members of the United Methodist Church. They both loved attending the Senior Center dances with their friends and relatives. Above all, they enjoyed family time during holiday's, birthday's and anytime they were gathered.

A graveside service will be conducted on 22 July 2025 at 2pm at Klein Memorial Park Cemetery located at 32539 SH 249, Pinehurst, TX. Pastor Rebecca Jones of Tomball Methodist Church will be officiating.
