Virginia Ruth Ruhnow, 89, Spring, TX, went home to be with her Lord on the Fifteenth of March, in the year Two Thousand Eighteen; she passed peacefully at Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence "Larry", and her sisters, Helen (Koontz) Saucer and Marjorie (Koontz) Ballard, and is survived by her son, Loran, with wife Donna, her daughter, Pamela, with husband Jeffrey, her grandchildren, Nicole, with husband Edward, Jeffrey, with wife Amanda, Walter, Ashley, Angela, with husband Eric, Bethany, with husband Joseph, as well as nine and a half great-grandchildren. Born Virginia Ruth Koontz on August 1, 1928 to Fred Koontz and Myra (Applebey) Koontz in Wayne County, IL just outside of Fairfield, she was known as Ginny, Ruth and Janey to her friends and family, depending on which group she was with. Ginny grew up on a farm, the youngest of three sisters, and excelled at her one-room grade school. Later, she attended college at the University of Illinois in Champaign, where she would meet her future husband, of nearly sixty-eight years. Ginny moved to Chicago, IL, with Larry, shortly after their son was born. Settling soon after that in the western suburb of Lombard, IL, where they spent more than 52 years. Ginny was active in their church and shared her strong faith with many. In 2006, Ginny moved, with Larry, to The Woodlands, TX where they quickly made new friends, and again got involved in her new church home.

Ginny and Larry loved extended family, and they treasured family events of all kinds. Summer dinners on their screened in porch were magnet for many. She loved to travel. Despite a slight aversion to flying in small planes, she took flight instruction and completed solo flight, as a safety precaution, before she and Larry undertook a three-year adventure in their small plane across the USA and into Canada, to rekindle friendships extending back to high school years.

Ginny believed in a strong marriage and family. She generously tended to the foundations of their family, with a firm belief in Christ's salvation, sprinkling each with love, while cultivating faith that, "we know Who's in charge." Outwardly, she may have appeared to a stranger as quiet, standing beside Larry and letting his smile charm all. However, those who knew Ginny best, know she was spirited, straight forward with honesty, smart, had a great sense of humor, and played a mean game of dominoes, bridge or backgammon.

Her kindness, humor, and incredibly inspiring faith will be missed by countless, however her family takes great joy and comfort in knowing that where she now resides is pain-free, sadness-free, with our loving Father in heaven and reunited with her love, Larry.
