Virginia Oliver, 89, passed away February 23, 2022, in Stagecoach, Texas.

Jenny was born on August 7, 1932, in El Paso, Texas to Thomas Uley Dakan and Mary Adela Schneider Dakan. Growing up, she was spotlighted in local newspapers for her participation in social events and earned numerous awards for her accomplishments in her school marching band as a drummer, as well as her rifle marksmanship.

She married Charles Wayne Oliver on November 3, 1950, and they have three children – Paul Thomas Oliver, Mark Alan Oliver and Kellie Lee Oliver Hosea.

The family moved to Houston, Texas in 1967.  While helping raise their family, Jenny went back to college earning a bachelor's in education from the University of Houston. "Mrs. Oliver" loved the many students that she taught as a kindergarten teacher in Spring Branch I.S.D. where she was a lifetime member of the Shadow Oaks Elementary P.T.A.  She was acknowledged in Who's Who Among America's Teachers and in the Houston Chronicle's "School News" for teaching English as a Second Language for adults.

In 1985, Wayne and Jenny moved to Saudi Arabia.  They used Wayne's two-year business assignment as an opportunity to explore many countries.

After retiring, they moved to Stagecoach, Texas where Jenny was involved in many activities and organizations, including being an active member of Tomball United Methodist Church where her involvement included the Cannon Class, Altar Guild, Heartfelt Stitchers, and United Methodist Women.  She had many friends, including those in the Potpourri Club and her neighborhood Bunco group. She immersed herself in her role as grandmother to Sierra Oliver Schane, Helena Ferris Oliver and Elissa Claire Oliver.  She taught them a love of games, hosted sleepovers, and participated in their lives in so many ways. She loved to shop and eat out, and celebrated annual holidays in grand style.  She created special traditions that will be carried forward as treasured memories each Valentine's Day, Easter, 4 ^th of July, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

She will be missed by many including her husband and children and daughter-in-law, Jill Bevins Oliver; Jill's parents, Dick and Ferris Bevins; Linda Sue Sharpe; and son-in-law, Rick Hosea.
