Virginia Lou Mize

Virginia Lou Mize, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026. She was surrounded by her family. Born on July 1, 1931 in St. Francisville, Louisiana, she lived a long and meaningful life defined by love, devotion to family, and quiet strength. She was known by Ginny. She was a devoted member of her church, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, finding great joy and purpose in her faith. Her commitment was evident through her regular attendance, heartfelt participation in worship, and the love and kindness she extended to her church family. Her faith was a guiding light in her life and a source of strength and comfort to all who knew her.

Ginny was a lady of many talents. She had her license as a hairdresser and cosmetologist and worked as a key punch operator for an insurance company. She was an avid porcelain doll maker and quilter. In her later years of life, she shared her talent of card making with all she knew.

Ginny will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the genuine care she showed to everyone around her. She cherished time spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories that will be treasured for generations.

She is survived by her oldest daughter, Linda Taylor; her younger sister, Mary Call; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, all of whom carry forward her legacy of love.

She was preceded in death by her beloved spouse, Cecil Mize, and her two daughters, Diane and Renee, who have welcomed her home.

A memorial service will be held with family and friends to celebrate her life.
