Virginia Louise Helm, age 91, of the Woodlands, Texas passed away on December 5, 2025.  She was born April 30, 1934 in Carrollton, Illinois, the oldest of two children of Irwin and Unetta Hutchens.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Robert Helm.  She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law; Robert (Laurie), James (Jane), and William (Shelly).  Virginia will be cherished and remembered by her eight grandchildren; James Eric, Ashley, Steven, William, Kevin, Alex, Jared, and Justin, as well as three great grandchildren; Ethan, Cori and Darius.  Virginia is also survived by her brother, Robert Hutchens.

Virginia graduated from Robinson High School in Robinson, Illinois where she was an excellent student and accomplished soprano vocalist.  She earned a teaching degree from Eastern Illinois University and had a life-long career as an elementary school teacher and guidance counselor in Illinois and in the Aldine School District in Houston, Texas. Virginia enjoyed reading, playing all types of games, going to the movies and traveling.  She was an engaging conversationalist enjoying visiting with friends and making connections with everyone around her.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on January 31 at 2 pm at Klein Memorial Park.  Virginia was a 15-year cancer survivor, and donations, in lieu of flowers, can be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org/donate/memorial-giving .
