Obituary

Virginia (Jenny) Pate Buller passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at her home in Houston Texas. Born on September 26, 1936 in Barnes, Polk County, Texas to Louise Handley Pate and Clifford Phillip Pate.

Jenny graduated from Chester High School in 1954 as Valedictorian of her class and she attended classes at the University of Houston and Stephen F. Austin.

Jenny had a long career in Houston Texas working in employee benefits administration with numerous companies within the Energy industry including Texas Eastern Transmission Company, BP Energy, and Hanover Compressor Company.

Jenny was strong in her faith as a Christian and was a member of The Methodist Church in Camden Texas. Jenny was devoted to her family and was a woman of integrity and great strength. She is survived by her daughters Denise Miller and husband Michael (Mickey) Miller and Ramona Betancourt and husband John (Berto) Betancourt.

Jenny is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer Hawkins and husband Bryan, Justin McCarty, Katie Ghutzman and husband Stephen, Brooke Williams and husband Jeff, and Laura Stout and husband Nick; her great-grandchildren Chloe Williams, Jack Hawkins, Peyton Ghutzman, Madison Ghutzman, Carter Hawkins, Callie Williams, and Wyatt Ghutzman. Along with her sisters Mary Pate and Cathy David and other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Murry Buller, parents and brothers Phillip Pate and John Pate.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Chester High School Purple and Gold Scholarship in Jenny's honor. They may be mailed to Chester ISD-Scholarship Fund, C/O Superintendent-Cory Hines at 273 Yellowjacket Dr, Chester, TX 75936.
