Virginia Elizabeth (Pickett) Bladel passed away peacefully in Spring, Texas on May 27, 2024 at the age of 83. She was born on November 18, 1940 in Ames, Iowa to George M Pickett, Sr and Sarah (Fjelland) Pickett. Her family moved to Rock Island, Illinois where she met and married her husband, John J Bladel in 1958.

She spent 20 years as a wine manager for a liquor wholesaler in Illinois. She and John followed daughter and family to Texas in 1992. She was known to her family as Ginger and affectionately known to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as Nana.

She is survived by children Stephanie (Jeff) Brady of Houston, TX. Phil (Lori) Bladel of Durant, IA. Grandchildren Jacob (Kristie) Brady of Boerne, TX, Joni Bockwoldt of Antioch, IL, Jane Becker of Knoxville, IA and Tim (Susan) Brady of Houston, TX and 11 great-grandchildren.She is also survived by brother Robert (Linda) Pickett of Rock Island, IL numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John and George, son Scott Robert Bladel. She lost the love of her life John Bladel in 2007.
