Obituary

Vida Mae Anderson, 102 years, went to her forever Heavenly home on March 27, 2017 surrounded by loved ones in Conroe, Texas.

A memorial service was held at Spring First Church in Spring, TX on March 30, 2017.

Vida Mae was born on October 29, 1914 in Doucette, Texas to Jeremiah and Ellie Hughes. They were both loving parents and invested time in each other and each of their six children.

Vida Mae graduated valedictorian of her high school class, and was set to attend college with scholarship funding. However, with the onset of the Great Depression, life took a different turn. As the years passed, she used her God-given mental abilities and strong work ethic to accept a job requiring a chemical engineering degree and eventually started a business with her husband, Ted in Houston, Texas.

The two ran Zesto together serving the community the best burgers and homemade ice cream in town for over 40 years! It was her beautiful and ever-present smile that kept customers coming back time and again. When her husband passed in 1974, she continued to maintain Zesto and her homelife. Sister Anderson was an active member of Greens Bayou Assembly of God Church which later became Crossroads Fellowship, served in the women's ministry, visited nursing homes, and enjoyed annual trips across the country with her sisters.

Her other interests included time with family, spending time in the outdoors, the country, gardening, playing dominoes, and reigning supreme as the family Scrabble champion! She devoted most of her time to serving her family and hard work.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by her daughter and spouse, Norma and Walter Shuler, son and spouse, Johnny and Susie Anderson, ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren!

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Anderson, son, Gerald Anderson and granddaughter, Stephanie Anderson.

Thank you for the part you played in her life, and we are all bettered and forever changed to have Mrs. Vida Mae Anderson a part of ours.
