Victoria Ann Catalano Sudkamp

Victoria Ann "Vicki" Catalano Sudkamp, age 80, passed away peacefully at her home on April 29, 2026. Born on February 12, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana, she was the beloved daughter of Frank and Delores Lupino Catalano.

Vicki grew up on Farrar Street in Kenner, Louisiana, and graduated from St. Charles Borromeo High School in Destrehan in 1965.

She met the love of her life, John D. Sudkamp, Jr., at Jim's Fried Chicken on Carrollton Avenue after a football game. They were married on September 4, 1965, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Kenner, Louisiana. After a brief honeymoon in Baton Rouge, they began married life at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. John always loved telling the story of how Vicki once realized she had left her purse at a restaurant in Krotz Springs. In the only time during nearly 60 years of marriage that she ever insisted he drive faster, they rushed back to retrieve it.

In 1966, while stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Vicki and John welcomed twin sons. During John's deployment to Vietnam, Vicki lived with her parents while raising the boys and began her 30-year career with BellSouth.

In 2001, Vicki and John moved to Tomball, Texas, to be closer to their sons and grandchildren. They became devoted parishioners of St. Anne Catholic Church, where Vicki was also active in the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Vicki loved caring for others through cooking and baking. Family and friends especially enjoyed her triple chocolate oatmeal cookies, mini cream cheese pies, and heavenly hash. More than anything, she loved being "Maw Maw" to her grandchildren. She treasured movie nights, slipping M&M's into cereal bowls, and cheering at school and athletic events.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, John D. Sudkamp, Jr.; sons, John D. Sudkamp III and wife Stacie, and Frank A. Sudkamp and wife Jennifer; and grandchildren Lillian, Andrew, and Caleb.

She is also survived by her brother, Frank A. Catalano and wife Marilyn; sister, Mary Catalano Sudkamp and husband Stephen; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Joseph C. Sudkamp and wife Diane, Beverly Sudkamp Monk and husband Tom, Gregory Sudkamp and wife Linda Babcock, Rose Sudkamp Dufrene and husband Ronnie, and Cheryl Sudkamp Miller and husband Ronn Miller.

Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Delores Catalano; her in-laws, John and Audrey Sudkamp; her brother-in-law, David Sudkamp; and a sister who died at birth.

The family invites relatives and friends to the Viewing and Rosary on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home, 1400 West Main Street, Tomball, Texas 77375.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Vicki's life will be held Friday, May 22, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1111 S. Cherry Street, Tomball, Texas 77375, with Fr. Tommy Hopper presiding.
