Victoria Ann Hoehnen Rust, age 75, of Cypress, Texas passed away on Monday morning, March 8, 2021, in Methodist Hospital Willowbrook in Houston. She was born on April 22, 1945 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the youngest daughter of Emil W. Hoehnen and Angeline Frey Hoehnen. While she was a toddler, her parents moved to California to follow her father's employer who had relocated the company from Milwaukee to California. After a few years in California, her mother yearned to be closer to the older daughters who had young children in Brenham. They left California for Brenham.

Vicki attended Central School, Brenham Elementary and graduated from Brenham High School in 1963. Soon after she and her future husband met, they fell in love. On July 18, 1963 she and Clarence William Rust were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Brenham. She enrolled in college, receiving her bachelor's degree from Sam Houston State University of Huntsville in 1972. In 1978 she received her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Houston. During their married life, Vicki and Rusty lived in Huntsville, Houston and Fredericksburg. They were members at various Catholic churches in the location of where they lived.

During her employment years, Vicki worked at St. Anthony's Nursing Home, in Houston. Later, she was Director of Social Work at Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital and Houston Northwest Medical Center. She also worked at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital.

With their love for the Hill Country, Rusty and Vicki purchased property and eventually built a retirement home, which they both dearly loved. She was active in Fredericksburg at Hill Country Memorial Hospital both as an employee and as a member of the Auxiliary. Vicki volunteered at the Fredericksburg Theatre Company, was an office volunteer at Saint Mary's Catholic Church, president of Saint Anne's Society, member of Gillespie County 100 Club, member of Texas Extension Education Association, member of National Association of Social Workers, and Writer's League of Texas. She was an avid writer and had three books published.

Vicki enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family, reading, writing and of course loved cats.

The following preceded her in death: her husband, "Rusty", in 2011; her parents, Emil Hoehnen and Angeline Hoehnen; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert A. Rust and Della Rust; her sister, Elaine (Mickey) McIntyre and husband Harvey D. McIntyre Jr.; her sister, Patricia McIntyre and husband, Ray K. McIntyre; niece, Marion McIntyre Johnson; nephew, Harvey (Dee) McIntyre III and his wife Pat McIntyre; nephew, Tom McIntyre; sister-in-law Aneva Rogas and her husband Harold (Slim) Rogas; brother-in-law Jacks Hicks.

Vicki is survived by Herbert E. (brother-in-law) and Joyce Rust of Burton, Dorothy Hicks (sister-in-law) of Houston. Nieces and nephews surviving are: Michael R. and Barbara McIntyre of Brenham; Ray K. (Kenny) McIntyre Jr. of Overland Park, Kansas; Kathi J. and Melvin Pitchford of Tomball; Jim Johnson of San Marcos;

Brent and Vicky Rust of Cypress; Amy and Bradley Jasinski of Burton; Brian and Reyna Rogas of Cypress; Nolan Rogas of Hockley.

She is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews, and great- great nieces and nephews. Special thanks to her niece-in-law caregiver, Vicky Rust, for her diligent service since her move back to Houston and Cypress area from Fredericksburg. Thanks to her many friends in Cypress and Fredericksburg who made her feel at home.

Funeral services are under the direction of Klein Funeral Home, 1400 W. Main Street, Tomball, TX 77375. Visitation will be held there on Thursday, March 11, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Klein Funeral Home in Tomball. Burial will be in Fredericksburg on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
