Vernon Ray Harris, beloved husband, father and brother passed away peacefully to his heavenly home on November 13, 2023 surrounded by close family and friends.

Vernon was born  on August 2, 1938 in Houston, TX to Alfred Claude Harris and Eliza Fitzgerald Harris. Vernon was married to his love Elizabeth and they shared 50 years together.

Vernon had a long career spanning 48 years in the automobile business as the owner of Trade Rite Auto Sales and VCS Financial Corp. He was greatly respected and made many close friends over his very successful career.

Vernon is preceded in death by his father Alfred Claude Harris, his mother Eliza Fitzgerald Harris and sister Mary Jo Hammond.

He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Harris, daughter Debbie Dayton and son-in-law Steve, sons David Ashley(Connie) and Keith Ashley, Grandchildren Jennifer Dayton, John Dayton, Amy Lee(Kyle), Chris Ashley, Madeline Ashley, Ashley Baranowski(Tim) Lauren Vronko(Ben), nephew and niece Kenneth Hammond and Kathleen Hammond along with many other family and friends.

Vernon's life was marked by his dedication to family, love of music, traveling and golf. His friendly persona, sharp wit and companionship will be missed by all that knew him.

And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them. This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
