Vernon Eugene Brown was born in Knox City, Texas in September 23, 1946 to his parents, Ed Earl and Eula (Redwine) Brown.  Vernon spent the first 3 years of his life in Benjamin, Texas before his parents moved to Morenci, Arizona where Vernon grew up and graduated from Morenci High School in 1964.  After graduation he attended college at Lubbock Christian College in Lubbock, Texas.  From there he went to Oklahoma City and attended Oklahoma Christian College graduating in 1968.

Vernon then returned to Lubbock Christian College and became the chief of security for the college and worked there until 1982.  While attending Oklahoma Christian he met his future wife, Jo Nell Johlke.  Jo Nell and Vernon were married May 28, 1977.  At that time, he inherited two of the best-in-laws a man could have, Ed and Allie Marie (Cartwright) Johlke.

Vernon went to work for Conroe Regional Hospital in July 1982 and retired in December of 2020.

Vernon passed through the gates of Heaven on August 4, 2022.  A time of visitation will be held from 10 am to 8 pm on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball.  Funeral services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at the Klein Funeral Home in Tomball.  Vernon's final resting place on earth will be in the Decker Prairie Cemetery.
