Vernon Ray Black II entered Heaven's gates November 26, 2016.

Ray was born July 20, 1962 into a Texas military family and traveled the U.S. with his family as a youngster. They lived among other places, in Fort Carson, Ft. Leavenworth and Salina, Kansas. The journey took them full circle back to Prairie View, Texas his Father's alma mater where they lived for several years. Houston was finally the placed he called home.

Ray was an outstanding basketball player in both High School and College and an avid golfer after learning the game from his Dad.

He will be greatly missed by all his loving family, neighbors and friends. He was to them:

"A good friend and loved life" / "A True friend" / "A kind, crazy, fun, and loving person" / "A cousin that was a brother." / "A sweet soul" / "A person who was always in a good mood, smiling, happy, and full of fun" / "A class act."

A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, December 10, 2016 at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Dr., Klein, Texas 77379
