Verne Scott Dellinger died on Thursday June 30, 2022 with his family at his bedside, following years of illness. Scott was born on August 21, 1947 in Wichita, Kansas to Mary Alice and Elmer Scott Dellinger. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kay Wilson. Scott is survived by his wife Kathy of 56 years, his daughter Dr. Tracy Dellinger, his son Colonel Scott Dellinger, daughter-in-law Carmel, grandchildren Chase, Clay and Sydney, and his brother Oliver Jack Dellinger. He is also survived by an extended family in Kansas, Colorado, and Missouri.

Scott's professional career started as a draftsman, but his strong work ethic earned him a fulfilling 40-year career as a procurement executive for engineering and construction companies in the petrochemical industry.

His hobbies and interests included spending time with family, golfing, fishing, traveling, woodworking, and fixing anything that was broken.
