Valorie Unruh, 39, of Tomball, was called home by our Lord on July 23, 2021. Valorie graduated from Pampa High School in 1999 with a love and passion for home economics, competing and even becoming a Texas state officer in FHA. Valorie's love of home economics led her to pursue and receive a Bachelor's degree from Texas Tech University in Family and Consumer Science in 2004.  With her love of Family and Consumer Science cemented Valorie found a teaching home at Klein Collins High School; where she spent her entire 17 year career, and touched too many lives to count. Valorie began her career teaching numerous classes in the Family and Consumer Science curriculum, but quickly found her passion was in fashion design, textiles, and sewing. Over many years Valorie took the fashion design program from a one period one class program to at one point a seven period three level program; while inspiring many students to pursue a career in the fashion industry. In 2019 with her love of participating in FHA in high school Valorie convinced the school to allow her to start an FCCLA club (Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America – a national high school organization) to share the experience with her students. Their very first year in existence, several members were recognized as award winners in the State Competition. In 2020, along with several State winners, one participant earned national recognition.

Valorie was extraordinarily gifted with creativity and a love for crafting. Going above and beyond at her school she would often be found helping different departments with sewing and making decorations. For several years, she was asked to design and sew costumes for the drama department. Valorie took great pride in designing and coaching her students in the annual Homecoming hallway decorations winning many times. Valorie's creativity ran through every part of her life from work, to her and her husband designed and created Yeti style powder coated drinking cups and she designed and produced t-shirts for many projects. Some of Valorie's favorite things to say were "glitter makes everything better" and "you can never have enough glitter". Over the past four years from her diagnosis Valorie had a much larger drive to help people than she already had, which led her to make and distribute hundreds and hundreds of port pillows to her cancer treatment centers eventually getting her classes participating.

Throughout her cancer journey Valorie showed her intense resolve to never give up, and live every day to its fullest so that every day after her diagnosis was a win. Valorie was a Warrior, with an unrelenting drive and attitude that she could conquer anything. Throughout her many treatments Valorie remained in the classroom and was the most dedicated teacher for her students. Valorie strived to give her students everything she knew in her heart that they deserved when they stepped foot in her classroom. Valorie was so determined to not let cancer interfere with her teaching that some days she would work a full day then go to treatment or she would continue to work from the infusion center while she received her treatments. Valorie was not fearless, she had her fears; but with the most amazing spirit she recognized them and had the courage to face them head on and to overcome them. Valorie's last words were to her husband that she "loved him", Valorie leaves behind a void in this world that will never be able to be filled by another.

Valorie was a Warrior, a wife, a teacher, a mentor, and so so much more.

Valorie is survived by her husband, Phillip Unruh, her beloved fur baby Oakley, her parents Chris and Jean Ann Johnson, her husband's parents Anthony and Sue Unruh, her grandmother Betty Johnson, brothers Ross Johnson and his wife Toni, Scott Johnson and his wife Bryanna, Bryan Johnson and his wife Tiffany, sisters Michelle Hoang and her husband Young, Melanie Thomas and her husband Matt, brother in laws Thomas Unruh and his wife Denise, Jeremy Unruh and his wife Tiffany, and sister in law Tonya Manous and her husband Cliff. She also had 21 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Rose Johnson, Sedgewick her beloved fur baby, and baby Unruh.
