Valorie Stricklin was born on October 19, 1929, in Shelby, Texas and went to be with her Lord Jesus on January 27, 2022, in Magnolia, Texas.
She was the first born to Walter A. and Elsie A. Warnasch.
Val graduated from Burton High School. She moved to Houston to attend and graduate from Southwestern Business College. While in Houston she went to Second Baptist of Jacinto City where she came to know the Lord at the age of 25. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church for 40 plus years and Believers Fellowship for over 17 years. She was a faithful servant to her Lord and was humbled and honored to receive the faithful servant award from Believers Fellowship.
Val was the secretary to the president of Hill and Hill Transportation for many years after which she worked as a secretary for Houston Marine Services until her retirement.
She married Guy Stricklin in 1958 and they celebrated 36 years of marriage until his death. She was later married to Emmitt Brown for 11 years until his death. She had two sons, Thomas and Timothy Stricklin. Val loved her Lord, her church, her family and her friends with a great love, passion and commitment.
Val was preceded in death by her father and mother, Walter and Elsie Warnasch. She experienced the death of spouse Guy Stricklin in 1994 and Emmitt Brown in 2004. In 2017, she walked through the grief of losing her son Thomas Stricklin.
She is survived by her son Timothy Stricklin and wife Rebecca; daughter-in-law Cynthia Stricklin; Sister Jerry Rushing and husband Tony; grandchildren Tammie Gordon and husband Rodger, Eric Stricklin and wife Jannette, Jennifer Cheney and husband Darrell, Rachel Collins and husband Robert, Hannah Morrow and husband Gordie; great grandchildren Sarah, Justin, Joshua, Jacob, James, Seth, Anna-Marie, Arianna, Westly, Katie, Mackenzie and Mason; Great Great Grandchildren Allie, Clayton, Lane, Easton, Jaxen and Blaire; Nieces and Nephews Richard Rushing and wife Olga, Ronald Rushing and wife Elizabeth, Lisa Cochran and husband David; and several great nephews.
Pallbearers for the service are Robert Collins, Gordie Morrow, Richard Rushing, Ronald Rushing, David Cochran and Eric Stricklin. Honorable pallbearers Rodger Gordon and Darrell Cheney.
