Troy Powell Mason was born in Roxton, Texas to Rosser Earl Mason and Clyde Smith Mason on December 4, 1929 a few minutes after the birth of his twin brother Roy Howell Mason. Troy died on July 19, 2016 in Cypress, Texas.

Troy grew up in a loving home. His dad was the Superintendent of the Roxton

schools and his family was active in the Roxton Methodist Church. Thus Troy's roots in education and faith went deep. He graduated from Paris Junior College and East Texas State before serving in the United States Army during the Korean War.

Most of Troy's professional career was spent in the petroleum industry. He worked in sales and real estate for Gulf Oil and Chevron. While working in Corpus Christi, Troy met Winifred (W innie) Bloomquist. They were married on August 13, 1960. They had one daughter.

In 1973 Troy was transferred to Houston. The Masons joined Cypress United Methodist Church. Troy loved the church and served in many roles. Perhaps his favorite was being a trustee with his friend Curtis Flournoy. The two worked together on many projects. Troy enjoyed being part of the Wesley Class and the Men's Roundtable. Always active in Methodist Men, he was presented a life membership in the national organization. He was always involved in outreach missions of the church. After his retirement from Chevron in 1992, he picked up and delivered food to local ministries of the community including CAM and went on five adult mission trips.

Troy was a Master Mason for over sixty years as well as a member of the Scottish Rite and the Ar abia Shrine. He was a charter member of the Tomball Area Shrine Club.

Troy was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Winnie, his daughter Teri Paula Mason, his brothers Melvin Rosser Mason, Roy Howell Mason, and Jack William Mason and by his sister Emily O'Connor and numerous nieces and nephews.

Troy will be remembered for his faithful service, his sense of humor, and his many stories. He truly treasured people and loved and served God in every way hercould. He will be missed.
