Tom Edd Burrage, Jr. passed away peacefully on November 13, 2023 after a very long battle with dementia. He was surrounded by loved ones at the time of his death. He was born on September 6, 1955 in Noxapater, MS. to Otis Maedell Burrage and Tom Edd Burrage, Sr.
After a very successful construction career on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, he began working for Brown & Root in Houston, Texas. His 20+ year career in the oil and gas industry took him all over the world to work and he had to learn to eat many different types of food, none of which "tasted like my Mama's cooking" according to him! He had a larger than life personality, always singing and knowing all the words from gospel music to Journey to Brooks & Dunn. His ability to quote movie references at the appropriate time was uncanny and playing the air drums on the steering wheel while driving was always a big hit with whomever was in the car. Throughout his life, he used his love of woodworking with his hands to build everything from kitchen cabinets, furniture, swings, crown molding to framing houses. He could fix anything and taught his kids many of these wonderful skills, all of which included memories of the flat pencil he always had stuck behind his ear.
Tom leaves behind his sister, Phyllis Howard (Joe), 5 wonderful children; Jonathan, Katie, Ashlee (Blake), Saidee (Desmond), Kaden, 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Tom & Mae Burrage and his oldest sister, Martha Sansing.
