Paul was born January 20, 1942, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to Thurman Hillman and Gertrude Neel Hillman. The family moved to Houston, Texas during Paul's childhood. At the age of nine, Paul was led to the Lord by his Sunday School teacher at Park Temple Baptist Church. Paul graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1959.
Shortly after graduation, Paul joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Intelligence Branch at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Paul met Joan Smith at Park Temple Baptist Church, and they were married December 26th, 1960.
Following Paul's Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Air Force, Paul and family returned to Houston, TX, where Paul returned working for J. Weingarten Grocery Stores. While working full-time, Paul continued his education at the University of Houston, where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration, maintaining the Dean's Honor Role.
Paul attained the position of Director of Training, with J. Weingarten, responsible for establishing and implementation of training programs, as well as representing J. Weingarten as an arbitrator between the company and the representative Labor Unions.
The family attended Park Temple Baptist Church, where Paul was a Deacon, Church Treasurer, and he and Joan were Youth Leaders. Paul and Joan later joined Champion Forest Baptist Church and enjoyed many wonderful years there with their church family.
Following the sale of J. Weingarten grocery stores, Paul became a limousine driver, enjoying the interesting people he met and building a following among the clientele. Paul assisted Bill Bohannon forming Corporate Limousine Services in the Woodlands, where Paul worked until his full retirement in 2017, when he and Joan moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, to be closer to family and where they enjoyed another wonderful church family with Faith Baptist.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Joan. Two sons and their spouses, Paul Mark and Kara Hillman, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Chris and wife Maria Hillman, Decatur, Texas. Three granddaughters, Candace Springer and Kevin, Emily Hillman, and Erin Hillman. Two great grandchildren, Scarlett and Colin Springer. Two Nephews, Shawn Hillman, Wayne Hillman, and Niece Shelly Hillman.
His parents, Thurman and Gertrude Hillman, a sister Paula Hillman, and brother Douglas Wayne Hillman, preceded him in death.
