Obituary

Thomas Jacob Toranto IV passed away July 1, 2020, in Spring, Texas.  He attendedHailey Elementary, Vogel Intermediate, Irons Junior High, and Oak Ridge High School.

In addition to playing football at Irons and Oak Ridge, he played youth club sports starting with soccer, then basketball and football.

Tommy was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Jacob Toranto III, his paternal grandfather, Thomas Jacob Toranto, Jr, his aunts Sheryl Toranto and Shelly Ellis.

Tommy is survived by his mother, Sarah Toranto Smith, stepfather, Matt Smith, sisters Tessa Maria and Sarah Jacquelin Toranto and her son Elijah, his paternal grandmother, Melanie Toranto,and Aunt Shawn Toranto and Aunt Sharon Toranto.

On his maternal side, Tommy is survived by his grandparents Ali and Janice Vassigh, Aunt Daria Clark and husband Tom, Uncle Brian Vassigh and wife Deanna, Aunt Danica Vassigh, Aunt Lauren Vassigh and husband Tommy Thomson.

Tommy is survived by paternal cousins Hilary Robinsin and husband Josh, their children Ellis and Astrid, and cousins Whitney Ellis, Gus Ellis and wife Leah, Ross Capdeville and husband Jhoed, Josh Capdeville, and Emily Capdeville and husband Barry and their son Elliott.

Surviving maternal cousins are Andrew Ramirez and wife Jennifer, Julia Ramirez and son Dean, Gabriella Ramirez, Austin, Connor, Evan, Blake, and David Vassigh, Esabella and Reagan Vassigh and Monroe Grace Vassigh-Thomson.

In addition to his sports activities, Tommy enjoyed spending time with his friends, being energized by nature, movies, music, and video games. He passionately engaged in philosophical talks and loved absorbing information about history, outer space, new discoveries--the cosmic unknown.

Tommy had a compassionate heart as he always went out of his way to help and care for others in need. He considered many of his friends as his brothers.  His winsome smile, and spontaneous laughter filled the hearts of many and he is greatly loved and will be sorely missed by all his family and friends.

Services will be held at Klein Funeral Home, 16131 Champion Forest Drive, Spring, Texas 77379 .  Visitation Service is Tuesday, July 7, 2020, from 5 to 7 PM.  The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at 6 PM.   Information about a post service gathering and balloon release will be provided.
