Thomas Addis Sewell, Jr. passed into his heavenly home on Monday, October 17, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born January 3, 1928 in Liberty, MS. He joined the Navy in 1945. After discharged from active duty he returned to Liberty and later married Margaret "Judy" Hughey on May 5, 1950. He moved to Beaumont, TX in 1952 where he worked for the railroad and retired in 1990.
He and Judy settled in Vidor, TX until 2003 when they moved to Houston to be closer to family.
Tommy was an avid football fan and history buff. If a sporting event or a western was on you could always find him in front of the television. College football was his favorite.
He loved to travel. He didn't travel much until later in life but any time the opportunity arose he was ready to go.
Family meant the world to him. He looked forward to every minute he could spend with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is lovingly survived by his son Kevin Sewell and wife Kelly; three grandsons, Christopher Sewell and wife Allison, Kyle Sewell, Kody Thompson and wife Ashley; great grandchildren, Mackenzie Sewell, Kolton Turpin, Kassidy Thompson and Hunter Frye; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Margaret "Judy" Sewell; his parents, Thomas Addis Sewell and Jessie; brother, Paul "Dick" Sewell; and sister, Mary W. Chambers.
