Tommy Nelson, 62, of Waller, TX passed away on Tuesday afternoon, February 18th, at home.

Tommy was born to Paula Leavitt Nelson in Nashua, NH, on April 16, 1962. He was raised mainly in New Hampshire and Maine but also in Florida and Texas. After high school, Tommy served in the U.S. Army. Afterward, he became an ironworker and took great pride in constructing the Sunshine Skyway Bridge, which connects Tampa Bay with Bradenton, Florida, the longest cable-stayed concrete bridge in the world.
Tommy never met a stranger and was always eager to be of service to anyone in need. He coached his sons in Waller Pee Wee Baseball and served as President of the Waller Pee Wee Football League. He was well known for his generosity and commitment to family, friends, and the community.

He served as Vice President of Coastal Conduit & Ditching, Inc., in Spring, Texas, for over thirty years and was a beloved boss and mentor. He believed "his guys" were the legs the company stood on, and he made sure they knew how much he respected and appreciated their commitment and hard work. He had a stellar reputation among his peers for honesty and attention to detail.

In his spare time Tommy enjoyed hanging out with his family, puppy dogs, and friends. He also loved puttering in the garden, listening to music, fishing, and deer hunting.

Tommy is survived by his wife, Karen, son TJ, and his wife, Maddy, of Navasota, Texas, son Riley of Hockley, Texas, brother-in-law, Bryan Schnelle and Anita Gross of Round Mountain, Texas, sister Pamela Nelson, of Maine, David Nelson and his spouse Mike Herrera-Nelson of Virginia, sister Cheryl Cottingham and her husband Darryl of Kaufman, Texas, brother Paul Nelson, and a plethora of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews located in Texas, New Hampshire, Georgia, and Virginia as well as countless friends.

Tommy was predeceased by his mother, Paula Leavitt Nelson, and baby sister, Wendy Nelson.
