Thomas (Tom) Emery Mathers was born on April 10, 1946 in Atkinson, Nebraska and was raised by his parents Berneice and Emery Mathers. Tom passed away on October 31, 2022 at the age of 76 in his home in Cypress, Texas. He was a dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Tom married the love of his life, Colleen Keegan, on June 29, 1968 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Burke, SD. To this union four children were born. Tom Mathers began his journey to be on his own for good. In the year 1995 with wit, drive, and ambition, he decided to embark on starting his own business. Mathers Environmental Drilling, Inc. was formed with one small drill rig and one bay door at a rental warehouse space in Houston, Texas. Tom worked and ran the business with his wife, Colleen. Struggles throughout the years were endeared by Tom, but his drive and determination became a force in which he was a success. Tom became a person in which people trusted and admired his knowledge on matters in business. Today his company has grown from his reputation of details and a job well done.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, and two infant siblings.

Tom is survived by his beloved wife, his "Sweetie", of 54 years, Colleen Mary Mathers and their 4 children. Shawn, wife Nunuk, and children Sicily and JohnWayne, Heather, husband Evan, and children River and Hunter, Shannon, wife Pari, and children Presley and Brody, and Shane, wife Amanda, and children Zane and Maverick.

He is also survived by his sisters and brothers, Leonard Mathers, Helen (Robert) Nichols, Charlotte Dague, Kay (Kenny) Reiman, Patrick (Carol Ann) Mathers, Don Mathers, Sharon (Harold) Reiser, Sheryl Zeisler, and Marjorie (Gary) Nolan, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He will always be remembered as a kindhearted, generous, and proud man with a wonderful sense of humor. Tom never met a stranger and he was the best story teller with his smile and hard belly laugh chuckles. He touched each person's lives in his own special way.

Tom's family was his pride and joy and greatest legacy. He always put Colleen, his children, and grandchildren above all else. He spoiled them all with his love and knowledge and gave them the best bear hugs and "horsey" rides. He was the rock to the family, the leader of work, and a teacher to the young. Tom will be deeply missed and will live forever in our hearts. As he would say as he was leaving or hanging up the phone, "We'll see ya!"
