Thomas Raymond Keine, 67, of Cypress, Texas, passed away February 13, 2024 after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer.

He was born on March 18, 1956, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Raymond Edward and Marabelle "Mickey" (Pritchard) Keine. He grew up in Rocky River, Ohio, with sisters Jennifer Jane (Keine) Jones, Judith Ann (Keine) Kornhauser, and Nancy Lea (Keine) Cause, and from an early age had an obsession with airplanes. He went on to attend Florida Institute of Technology, where he joined Alpha Eta Rho before graduating and beginning his career as Chief Pilot at FIT Aviation.

In 1979 he married Barbara (Barone) Keine, his beloved wife of 44 years. He was a wonderful father to their children Thomas Raymond Keine, Jr., Elena Marie (Keine) Lara and husband Abran Carlos Lara, and David Christopher Keine and wife Dorothy Rose (Schuler) Keine.

Tom spent 43 years following his passion of flying airplanes. He joined United Airlines in 1985 as one of 570 newly trained pilots that helped ALPA to prevail in a strike. He traveled the world before retiring as a 777 captain in 2021. When not flying Tom was often found at a ballpark with Barb watching their kids play, working on cars, or snuggling with his Italian greyhounds, Wrigley, Howie, and Pilot. He also enjoyed being silly with his two grandchildren, Cooper and Ameliana Lara. He proudly watched his son Tom Jr. follow in his footsteps as a pilot.

Tom was a fun-loving, and kind son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was always thinking of others and usually putting their needs before his own. He was often quiet, but loved deeply, and he got the greatest joy from making others laugh. For those who knew and loved him, Tom was truly magnificent.

The family will receive visitors Sunday, February 18, 2024, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Klein Funeral Home – Cy Fair, 9719 Wortham Blvd., Houston, TX 77065. Funeral Services will be held Monday, February 19, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church, 10135 West Rd., Houston, TX 77064, with Deacon Matthew Rust officiating. Internment to follow at Klein Memorial Park 32539 SH249, Pinehurst, TX 77362.
