Thomas Norvil Fitch was born in Houston, Texas on October 26, 1939, and passed away at his home in Canyon Lake, Texas on August 7, 2023.

A graduate of Milby High School, class of 1958, Tom was an electrician by trade.  He started off his life-long career working at Wohlt Electric in Houston and rose very quickly through the company ranks.  He taught Apprentice School through the I.B.E.W. Local 716, and later started his own company with his friend J.C. Marino.  While there, Tom earned his Master Electrician license and came to be considered a leader and authority in the electrical contracting business both in and around the Houston area.  Later, he founded Fitch Electrical Services and worked there until his retirement in 2007.

As a child, Tom and his family would frequently vacation in New Braunfels, Texas.  He learned to swim in the Comal River at Ulbricht's Summer Resort, now known as Heidelberg Lodge.  Tom fell in love with the area and eventually bought property on the Guadalupe River and built the home he would eventually retire to.  Tom flourished in retirement and embraced his community.  He volunteered at the Tye Preston Memorial Library, where he was named Volunteer of The Month in November of 2010.  Tom loved reading, all types of music, and woodworking.  He played the violin in his high school orchestra and for two years at the University of Houston. He bought a mandolin on a trip to Mountain View, Arkansas and taught himself to play.  He loved to cook and watch the Aggies play, no matter the sport.  Above all else, he was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Norvil and Myra Fitch.

Tom is survived by the mother of his children, Suzanne Fitch Tobin; his children, Michael Fitch and wife Lauren, and Pamela Bodine and husband Calvin; his beloved wife of 40 years, Ruth Fitch; his step-children, Dayna Rasberry, David Stoviak, and Darrell Stoviak and wife Stephanie; granddaughters, Taylor Rasberry and Allie Rasberry; and numerous cousins.

The family would like to extend thanks to Doctor Rodabe Amaria and Doctor Ganesh Rao, as well as all of the doctors, nurses and staff at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center for their wonderful care over the last 9 years.
